We’re finally getting underway with setting up our little girl’s bedroom. Step one… find the room. Since we built this house almost four years ago, this room has been a guest room, a storage room, an office, a storage room, a temporary play room, a storage room… oh yeah… and a storage room. It seems like all the “stuff” that just doesn’t fit anywhere else ends up in this room. Right now, it is filled with I don’t know exactly what, a desk, two computers, a couch and a dresser, as well as some of the little girl furniture that will eventually call it home. What a job!!!
But in all honesty, I look forward to completing it. I look forward to totally emptying it out of everything, thoroughly scrubbing it (there is still drywall dust on the wall from when we built the house) and giving it a fresh coat of paint (after we patch the walls where that nails from the drywall have pushed through.) Then that fun part begins as we try to figure out what furniture goes where to make it a suitable room for a little girl, a useable room if we need it for company (yes our house is huge, but we have had every bed filled and then some on more than one occasion) and at this point a safe place to store the little girl toys that the boys are rapidly destroying. (You know, the pink plastic teapot, the baby doll stroller… the things that little boys like to haul out into the mud and snow…)
And so, it begins. Right now I am just hoping for some simply tidying up, maybe next week a little bit more thorough of a cleaning and if all goes well, soon those scrubbed walls and fresh paint. It needs lots of planning… lots of plotting… and most of all, lots of prayer.

Praying for the princess's new room and please let us know if we can help!! Love you all!
ReplyDeleteAn update - we did finally get Laeliana's room done! I light beige paint, green curtains and purple bedding. A proper room for a little girl, or for guests... now we just need to transition the little girl into sleeping there... someday. (Momma isn't quite ready yet...)
