The more livestock you have, the more lotion you will go through... you have to wash your hands A LOT!
Bugs like your livestock and much as you do... the neighbors probably do not.
Everything is better fresh... fresh hay, fresh grain, fresh water... and fresh milk, eggs, cheese and meat.
There is always something new to learn... and yes, old dogs (or goats) can learn new tricks... it just takes some extra time and effort. (a sometimes an extra does of electricity!)
Routines only work when worked at, and work best if more than one person needs them... I like routines, I'm lousy at keeping them, but I like them... turns out, goats like routines too, and they aren't afraid to let you know when you have disrupted theirs.
Listen to the boss... There are several bosses around here... And you better listen to them! Cassidy, the rooster is the smallest boss, but also the loudest... His only power is over his harem. Grace, the goat, is the pushiest... she pushes the other goats, pulls on the baby goats ears and make a general nuisance of herself if you don't honor her position as herd queen... other than that, she just thinks she is in control. And Eric, the Big Boss, is the gentlest and meekest... meek means power under control... That's Eric... He's my favorite boss to listen to, and his advice is almost always dead on... Cassidy and Grace... not so much.
