Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig.

A quick jaunt to the big city yesterday… or I guess the day before, to visit with family and get some bills paid is over now and we are once again back home to the relative peace at our house.

Relative peace … that is a good term to describe our home. To me, I guess it is peaceful. The boys are playing outside, Laeliana is playing in her room, and the house is quiet for now, but even when the boys come in and the noise level rises, there is a certain peace in spending your time at home with family.

However, many of you that know my family would agree that peace is a very relative term, especially at our house. We are loud and active… we are away from home more often that not, and if we are home, there is almost certainly the penetrating sound of trumpeting elephants stampeding through the upper story of our house. (Yes… those would be my kids.)

It is not a quiet place, a calm place or a place that anyone can rest, but the joyful sounds of children, the smell of home-cooked food and the dull roar of life at our house is comforting to me. It puts my heart at ease and brings me joy when I sit and listen to the sounds of life.

As a favorite book says…

“Let the wild rumpus begin!”
